In 2025 Orchestral Tools launched the Berlin Free Orchestra.
We decided to organise a scoring competition for that launch and we made this short film with the intention of it being scored with the new Orchestra. Shot and directed by me.

Bert Zander’s “Die Pest”
The pandemic derailed the world in 2020.
What was to become a theatre piece on a different topic ended up being cancelled along with all other theatre performances commissioned by Theater Oberhausen at that time.
Bert Zander however, saw opportunity. He gave the whole team that was supposed to work on the commissioned piece a chance to instead tell the story of Camus’ “The Plague”.
Although it ended up being very complex, I was lucky to be a part of this really exciting project. we scrapped together small camera kits for the actors to film themselves, and the performances were then processed to be projected onto the city of Oberhausen itself.
The scenes that started on zoom calls between the director and the wonderful cast were now telling a very prescient story about what was going on in the city of Oberhausen at that very moment.
The story is intercut with the townsfolk of Oberhausen taking on the role of the narrator.
In this project, I was responsible for gathering the necessary camera kit and instructing the actors how to use it, setting up the digital infrastructure for them and all the citizens of Oberhausen to send us their self recorded passages, prepping the footage to be projected by the team in Oberhausen, and, of course, the actual editing of the final episodes.
About A Girl
“About A Girl” was another pandemic project.
The challenges for this one arose from not actually speaking the language and working with the stop motion aspect of the film. A small endearing story written and directed by the talented Asya Segalovich.

Part of a short stint in CDMX in 2021 in which I was invited to AD 2 music videos. This one was shot on 16mm and in one night. A VERY tight schedule that would have never been possible without a tight-knit crew and a lighting team who were practically magicians.

Second half of that short stint in CDMX 2021. Another shoot in a beautiful house hidden in the middle of Mexico City with some overlapping courageous crew from the “Qué Más Da” video.

A film born in the midst of the pandemic in the later half of 2020.
For this project, I was invited to be the sound recordist on set. By chance, I ended up taking care of the entire audio post-production. Great team, great film!
