Commercial trailers

Since working at Orchestral Tools I’ve helmed the production of many product trailers.

Some comprised footage we shot ourselves during the recordings, some with footage sent to us from recording sessions in faraway lands, and some were constructed with material we shot in our studio.

Virtual Orchestration

The Youtube channel “Virtual Orchestration” is one of the most involved projects I’ve been part of. With a core crew of 4 people, I was in charge of all the technical parts of filming, editing and delivery. We made an entire season of more than 30 episodes within a year and a half. Here is a selection of some of our proudest moments:

Theatre video work

Schuld und Sühne

Crime and Punishment is a novel that’s hard to adapt. Bert Zander's vision was a solo show starring Christian Bayer as Raskolnikov alone with the guilt of the murder he committed. He spends 3 hours reacting to pre-recorded videos projected onto 4 screens: Oberhausen townsfolk telling the story of his mental and moral downfall as well as his family and the police prodding about.

Editing-wise, this is objectively the biggest project I’ve ever been a part of. Filmed over the course of a couple of weeks and edited for only a month, we managed to edit 3h of film on each screen totaling a massive 12h of finished material for Christian to slowly lose his mind in front of.

FAUSTGretchen

Another project for Bert Zander. While this adaptation also included a lone performer reacting to a story playing on 4 walls, this was an entirely different endeavour.

Gretchen (played by Emilia Reichenbach) lives alone as an overlooked character, a forgotten story. With this piece, Bert and team wanted to bring her to the fore and talk about all the problematic aspects of what Goethe put her through in her short lifespan.

The videos on the four walls range from scenes with her friend to the townsfolk of Kassel telling Emilia her own story—some with compassion and some with judgment.

Soledad y Dolores

A project by Andrea Barba.

Three generations of women reside in a house.

The death of one of them brings up generational trauma, and the subsequent search for enlightenment through the passing of their traditions and history.

A co-production with a handful of women from Los Mochis Sinaloa, Mexico.

Social media

Here’s a selection of some videos created for specific vertical content campaigns. The goal of these was engagement and reach, which these videos accomplished beautifully.

We produced these videos with the aim of giving the incredibly talented Claire Wickes the platform to shine through.

Corporate video work

For big releases at Orchestral Tools, the company often produces video keynotes.

These are high production endeavours and making them consists of many moving parts and independent help.

The turnaround of these videos also tended to be within 3 weeks from filming date, through offline and online to publishing.

Every single one of these is a product of great communication, a dedicated team, and a clear goal.

We also produce many educational videos and various interviews. Some focussed on hardware, others on the craft of composing and some were more software-oriented.

Some of the FFOSSO educational videos.

And some of those interviews were with artists regarding their work and process.
